The BuildMopar Cooperative Car Build ended in November of 2020. The outcome was an award-winning design-build in a 1968 Dodge Dart we've dubbed 'The DARTPAK".
The car was voted on by thousands of enthusiasts over the course of 6 months, and the final design is now being put into the estimate and assemble phase.
BuildMopar was a car project concept that the founders of Ready Chassis Race Cars invented in March of 2020. We felt that with all the new 3rd GEN HEMI® based engines and driveline swap options that are out there, that we could help our followers to create a focused plan on how to develop, architect, and build a really great NHRA Certified class-based race car. The project is now is the phase of building an 8.50 SuperPro chassis to compete in the Modern Street Hemi Shootout Series. The project was VERY different. But how so?
It was different, because the community participated in the direction of the ENTIRE project. Everything from the model of the car, the color choice, the driveline choices - all the way down to the size of the slicks - was nominated by the aftermarket vendors, and then voted on by the enthusiasts.
During the project, we teamed up with warehouse distributors to understand how the vintage parts market was continuously growing alongside the performance aftermarket. We felt like it was time to showcase what great cars, great parts, and smart motivated people can bring together.
Below were the nomination and the vote calendar and stages that took place between July and December of 2020.
As we completed each phase of our project, we continued to expose our architecture plans, concept drawings, instructions, restoration parts selections, and even videos to help get our audience excited. This way you can be a part of it as much as you want to, and then you can either just follow along and enjoy watching our progress, or duplicate what we are doing that you like.
Now it time that Ready Chassis Racing starts the design process. Stay tuned for content and materials that will help you the enthusiast to understand how we are going to put project DARTPAK together. It's truly where the rubber will meet the road!
Cheers to an awesome project and many wrinkled tires!
